New Hourly Rate
The recommended minimum hourly rate has been increased to $30.00 per hour, so that life modeling can remain a viable occupation for models; as the costs of transport have increased, as has the cost of basic necessities. In making this decision we have considered the ability of private art groups and institutions to pay. We published this intention in the Subscriber Newsletter in June 2010 and the LMS newsletter in June and September 2010.
We acknowledge that many non-subscribers do use our working conditions as a guide. It has come to our attention that some subscribers were not aware of the intended change in the minimum hourly rate. To clarify matters we have produced an Open Letter that can be downloaded for subscribers and art groups to assist in the changeover period.
